Product Description

The Merlin 2000S ventilation interlock system is specifically designed for use in commercial kitchens when the appliances DO NOT have flame failure devices built in. The Merlin 2000S uses a digital pressure transducer fitted to a solenoid valve on the incoming supply line to the appliances to check the pressure of the gas before allowing the gas supply to be switched on. If it detects a leak it will not allow the gas valve to open until a check of the appliances has been carried out and the panel is put through another test procedure.

A carbon monoxide monitor can be utilized with the Merlin 2000S to prove ventilation is in operation & running efficiently by monitoring CO levels in the air. If dangerous levels of carbon monoxide is detected, the Merlin 2000S will automatically shutdown the gas supply & provide a visual and audible alarm of the danger.

At the same time the Merlin 2000S will check that the ventilation fans are operational. If at any time the panel detects the fans have stopped the panel will shut down the gas supply. A main factor when designing the Merlin 2000S was to make installation easy and cost effective. No calibration of the gas-proving device is required because there are no mechanical moving parts. Wiring of the unit is straightforward as there is only one panel combining both gas pressure proving and ventilation interlock, all electrical connections for airflow switches, remote safety stop buttons, gas pressure proving device and other sensors are Low Voltage.
